Infaq For Cambodia Wells 2022

Cambodia – Muslim Cham is a minority ethnic group in Cambodia, the least developed country. They are in poverty and have little access to nearly everything. Lives in a rural place, doing their best to survive the day. Water is an essential human need. They needed it the most, yet they couldn't afford it. Some of them were forced to wait for rain to get clean water. When times were tough, they were forced to purchase overpriced water supplies from non-Muslims. Unfortunately, there was a time when they had to scoop water from a puddle.

Projek Wakaf Umat is working with Kasih Serantau to support Cambodian households. Since 2020, more than 90 wells have been constructed, benefiting hundreds of people. This allows people to have access to clean water.

Yayasan Maghfirah and Kasih Serantau express our thanks to the donors who helped build this wells project. Having clean water supplies meaning that they will no longer need to scoop water from a puddle merely to have water.

‘The Messenger of Allah (saw) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “[Providing] water”’. [Abu Dawud]
